Now is the ideal time to experience summer’s rich tapestry of color, fragrance and texture.
An oasis of tropical plants awaits you enter the gardens. Asiatic lilies in myriad striking
colors and sizes and scented lavender and petunias fill the air drawing you through our garden
rooms. Gain inspiration for your own garden from the unique and beautiful combinations of
annuals found in containers scattered throughout the grounds. The Memory Garden and Woodland
trail provide cool contrast to the rest of the park, showcasing a wide variety of ferns and
shade-loving perennials.
New for 2008 in the Children’s Discovery Garden is the Hula Hoop Garden, a floral and
sculptural celebration of the 50th birthday of this favorite toy! Also, be sure to explore
the container gardens featuring many edible favorites (and recipes!).
Check out our summer schedule of events–highlighted opportunities include, drop-in activities
for families, gardening programs for seniors and our popular Living with Mother Earth series.
Salsa Celebration is July 12, 2 -7pm. A great festival for all!
