Seasonal Update
The 2nd Street Market is open year-round, but is especially enjoyable in the spring when the weather is fair and there is a more interesting selection of produce and flowers to pick from. In mid-April, color arrives with bouquets and flower baskets available for Mother's Day or just to brig a little springtime home with you. In May, local farmers begin to set up their outside stands featuring early season produce, some of which are organic. Bedding plants, potted plants, and seedlings for planting, such as tomatoes, are also available in mid-spring.

Speaking of seedlings, you won’t want to miss our Springtime at the Market in April, where you can pick up free tree seedlings for your own backyard. Over 10,000 trees have been given away at this event over the last 6 years. The market’s biggest annual event, the National City Ohio Wine Festival, will again be held in June. Come and taste wine from over a dozen Ohio wine producers while taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling market.

Each week there are food stands, free samples and live music at the market. Join us for your weekly shopping or just do lunch!

    • With sponsorship assistance from National City Bank, local growers, bakers, culinary specialists, and artisans fill this charming historic freight house. Reminiscent of European markets, it’s alive with vendors, people and activity during market hours.

    • The market began as an extension of the Wegerzyn Outdoor Farmers Market, which moved to the Cannery building on Wayne Avenue to provide an indoor setting and to extend their season in the late 1990’s.

In November 2001, the market moved to its present location at Second and Webster streets, in a former Baltimore and Ohio freight warehouse built in 1911.

    • Directions
Take Keowee St. to Third St. and turn left. Turn right at Webster St., then right at 2nd St.

      Public Transportation
      RTA Bus Route 11
Take route 11 north on Main Street through downtown to First and Webster streets. Walk south (right) one block on Webster Street to the Market.

    • The 2nd Street Market operates in an historic block-long former 1917 B&O railroad building. It was saved from demolition and renovated in 2001 in partnership with National City Bank.

Five Rivers MetroParks is proud to help support growing and buying locally produced goods. The 2nd Street Public Market strives to promote sustainable, local food systems in order to shrink the ecological footprint of Montgomery County.
