Green Livin: Home Energy Audit and Home Tour
A home energy audit can help you identify the best and most economical ways to reduce your home energy bills. This free, three-session course will show you how to reduce your energy bills through both lecture and demonstration. Participants will tour LItehouse Demonstration 'green homes' that feature innovative features for the 21st century in the final session. This FREE program is collaboratively presented by Five Rivers MetroParks, Montgomery County Public Works, the City of Dayton, Go Sustainable Energy, LLC and the LiteHouse Group. Environmental Film Series: Radically Simple
Engineer and author Jim Merkel presents his views on earth-friendly living in public presentations and workshops at his home. Living With Mother Earth: Tour of Sandridge Prairie
Enjoy a mini trip with MetroParks' Director of Conservation Dave Nolin, as he leads this tour of a great, (but small) prairie overlooking I-75. This great spot is just one more example of MetroParks' saving land. Meet in the Wegerzyn parking lot and carpool to the prairie. Bring your camera for a rare glimpse of a local treasure.. Master Recycler Certification
Learn the details of reducing, reusing & recycling in this 5-week volunteer course
created in partnership with the Montgomery County Solid Waste District. Candidates
must complete 25 hours of volunteer time in addition to the class time to receive
their certificate.

This in-depth, 17-week horticulture program includes these all-organic topics: Botany
for Gardeners, Plant Propagation, Herbaceous Ornamentals, Landscape Design, Native
