Subaru of America and Five Rivers MetroParks Partner in Adventure
Since 2011, Five Rivers MetroParks has been the proud recipient of two branded Subaru vehicles.
“We at Subaru are thrilled to be partnering with Five Rivers MetroParks. Their outdoor recreation programs are outstanding, not to mention the professionalism and genuine enthusiasm of their staff to engage the community in the outdoors. We find that their level of commitment to conservation, recreation and education, through their programs and facilities is perfect for what our customers at Subaru are looking for,” said Greg Daniels, Subaru Zone Marketing Manager.
The partnership between Subaru and Five Rivers MetroParks developed from early involvement between the auto maker and the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience, known as GearFest at that time. In 2010, Subaru of America, with support from local dealers, was presenting sponsor of the event. As the relationship grew, Subaru of America decided to expand their support by providing a Subaru Outback and Subaru Tribeca. The cars made their first appearance at GearFest in 2011.
Today the relationship between MetroParks and the auto dealer continues to thrive. Local dealer, Wagner Subaru has increased their commitment to providing outdoor recreation experiences to those in the Miami Valley by being the title sponsor of our signature outdoor recreation event Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience. At the same time, Subaru of America continues to provide two wrapped promotional vehicles on an annual basis to support outdoor recreation programming in our parks. In 2019, the cars were updated to a Subaru Outback and Subaru Ascent wrapped in beautiful promotional graphics that showcase the variety of outdoor recreation opportunities and the natural beauty within Five Rivers MetroParks. Additionally, Wagner Subaru provides rack packages for transporting kayaks and bikes throughout the Miami Valley and beyond.
Subaru’s corporate commitments to the environment make them an ideal partner for Five Rivers MetroParks. The company’s initiatives include the country’s lone zero-landfill auto assembly plant, located in Indiana. That same automotive assembly facility also is the first of its kind to be designated as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Subaru’s headquarters in New Jersey features community gardening plots that donate crops to local food banks. Even the vehicles are Earth-friendly: Subaru offers certified Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV). Gasoline vehicles meeting these standards can have even lower emissions than hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles.
“We are thankful for our partnership with Subaru because of their status in the outdoor industry, environmental practices and commitment to promoting active lifestyles,” said Brent Anslinger, Outdoor Recreation Manager.
