Celebrate the holidays at Carriage Hill MetroPark

Carriage Hill MetroPark’s annual holiday programs are this Sunday, Dec. 15. Visit the park during the day or evening to experience what the holiday was like in the late 1800s. These programs are free and for all ages.

CHRISTMAS ON THE FARM ( 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Visitor Center (upstairs)

  • Christmas coloring page for kids
  • Christmas traditions memories for families
  • Showing of A Christmas Carol on the Visitor Center screen

Children’s Interactive Classroom

  • Write a letter to Santa
  • Visitor Center Classroom (downstairs)
  • Christkindlemarkt: Shop for handmade gifts from local vendors

Historical Farm

  • Noon to 3 p.m.: Visit Santa Claus in the Daniel Arnold Barn (upstairs)
  • Woodworking and blacksmithing demonstrations
  • Christmas traditions, knitting demonstrations in the Daniel Arnold House
  • Traditional Christmas foods display in the winter kitchen
  • Stringing popcorn in the summer kitchen
  • Baking gingerbread in the outdoor bake oven
  • Complimentary Christmas greens at the Historical Barn
  • Horse-drawn wagon rides
