CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH NATURE

Festivals & Events

Outdoor events in your MetroParks are a great way to connect with nature.

Midwest Outdoor Experience

Throughout the year, MetroParks and community partners host an array of outdoor events, from the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience at Eastwood MetroPark to summer concert series at RiverScape MetroPark, from 5Ks such as the Breast Cancer Walk to large cultural festivals such as the Celtic Festival.

These events provide opportunities for people of our community to gather and celebrate together, instilling a sense of community pride and spread awareness of our cultural heritage. Having these events in a MetroPark showcases the beautiful places we protect and introduces thousands of new visitors to our parks.

MetroParks’ events encourage family time outdoors and draw people who may not regularly visit a park — and a fun time at a festival may entice those folks to venture to other parks and discover something new in nature. For those already comfortable in wild spaces, competition events, such as 5Ks, offer intense experiences where people shift from passive spectator to active participant.

You’ve told us in surveys you enjoy festivals and special events, and MetroParks is happy to be able to host events that unite our community and provide a way for people of all ages and abilities to relax, have fun and spend time together outdoors.
