Are you considering Five Rivers MetroParks as the location for your special event? You need to apply for a special event permit. It is imperative that you plan early.

What if I’m not doing a special event, do I still need a permit?
Yes, if you want to conduct any meeting, speech, picnic with more than 200 people, have a wedding, set up children’s inflatable play equipment, sell anything, including photography sessions in a park, conduct a religious or political event, etc., you need a permit. For a full listing of permit requirements, download our rules and regulations document and read CHAPTER 94: PERMITS.

Applications, Guidelines, Fees and Standards

Please complete the below Permit Application along with the necessary supporting documents 60 days prior to the requested event date if the projected attendance is less than 500 people, or 90 days prior to the requested event date if the projected attendance is 500 people or more. This will help us to determine availability for your group event.

Please be aware that Five Rivers MetroParks is a tax-supported public body and that its primary obligation within its facilities is to serve the general public at large. As a public body our responsibility is to place the welfare of the general public before that of any special interest group. Accordingly, decisions made regarding your application and components thereof will be based on this premise at the sole discretion of Five Rivers MetroParks.

All parties interested in holding an event at one of the Five Rivers MetroParks facilities, including along the Miami Valley Bikeways/Recreation Trails must complete the Permit Application and facility site map or a race route map. Please choose from the park links on the left for facility maps and download a Bikeways Map for events occurring on local bikeways and recreation trails. Submit your completed application, site map, race route map, drafts of promotional materials and signs for consideration and approval by our park management and ranger staff. Please read and review the Special Event Policy and Guidelines as this information will assist you in completing the application and in planning your event and should be kept for future reference.

Please allow ample time to complete these requirements and do not publish any promotional materials until your application and drafts have been approved.

Thanks for choosing Five Rivers MetroParks!
