Café Sci
Café Sci removes science from the lecture hall into a cozy, fireside discussion. The goal is to engage the public in science in a non-traditional way. At Café Scientifique, a scientist introduces a current, science-related topic and then opens the floor for discussion. Café Scientifique is held once a month, usually on the 4th Thursday of the month, from 7-9 p.m.

Overview
In 1962, James M. Cox, Jr. donated 160 acres of land to establish an arboretum in our community. Since then, dedicated volunteers, community leaders, and Five Rivers MetroParks staff have protected the land and nurtured Cox Arboretum for the people of the Miami Valley and southwest Ohio to enjoy. The Arboretum is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk year-round.

The James M. Cox, Jr. Arboretum Foundation serves as the governing body of the Arboretum and has generated more than $40 million toward its operation over the past 48 years. The Arboretum relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporations to carry out its mission and ensure a quality experience for visitors and participants in its educational programs. Funds generated through memberships, gifts, grants, and special events are combined with operational funding received from Five Rivers MetroParks, as well as more than 30,000 annual volunteer hours, to sustain this incredible regional facility for outdoor education and recreation.

Founders Society
The Founders Society, created in honor of Jean Mahoney and Jean Woodhull, is dedicated to creating the caliber of facility our founders set out to achieve -- now and in the future - opening the eyes, minds and hearts of all generations.

Imagine...
Exquisite garden designs and perfectly executed landscaping details to complement the natural beauty of the prairies, woodlands and water gardens. Large sweeps of carefully selected color and texture unearth a vision that previously existed only in the imagination. Enchanting views into unique and natural areas inspire the senses and enliven the spirit. A place where dreamers dream and gardeners grow.

The Founders Society is an exclusive category of membership for those dedicated to seeing this dream come true. Members will have a significant impact on the transformation of the grounds, contributing to a more positive experience for every visitor. Founders Society members also receive significant membership benefits.
