From US 35:
Take the James H. McGee Boulevard Exit, turn North from ramp onto James H. McGee. Travel 2.2 miles. You will pass through several lights, Third Street, Dakota and Rosedale. After you pass the light at Bridge Street, you'll pass a church, and three groups of apartments. Just around the bend from the apartments you will see Adventure Central. It is a large barn-red brick building attached to a single story wing with a parking lot and large tan sign with green letters in front. That's the place!

Adventure Central at Wesleyan MetroPark is an education center for youth ages 5-18. Adventure Central serves youth in West Dayton as a hub for out-of-school time programming to include after school programs, activity nights, day and overnight camps, as well as parent and family programs. Through this innovative partnership with Five Rivers MetroParks, Ohio State University Extension, and 4-H, participants spend time connecting with nature in a positive youth development context for the intended outcome of creating caring, capable, and contributing citizens of tomorrow.
Mission
To promote positive youth development education and leadership skills using an environmental foundation in a welcoming, safe, fun, active setting that utilizes volunteers and community resources with adult and youth interaction.

Get Involved
The best way for new youth to get involved in Adventure Central programming is to attend our Activity Night program. Activity Nights run from 7pm - 8pm during the school year, and include many of the same activities as the afterschool program. For more information on enrollment, please call 937-278-2601.
Volunteer Opportunities
We always appreciate teen and adult volunteers and have opportunities for both episodic and long-term volunteers. There are many capacities in which volunteers could help including homework assistance, assisting with programming, and exhibit and grounds care. For volunteer/service learning opportunities, please come in or call 937-278-2601.
Awards and Recognition
Adventure Central’s Job Experience and Training (JET) program was recently designated a National 4-H Program of Distinction.
