Englewood MetroPark provides the setting for fishing, birdwatching and picnicking. Discover the beauty of woodlands, meadows and three waterfalls. Enjoy scenic hiking, recreation and bridle trails. Englewood MetroPark also offers fossil collecting, canoeing and kayaking. Each season highlights different wonders of nature including spring wildflowers blanketing the forest floor, plants and trees dressed in full foliage in summer, the warm colors of fall leaves and frozen waterfalls in winter.

Pumpkin Ash & Swamp Forest
Tucked away in Englewood MetroPark is a unique woodland area, a remnant swamp forest. Visitors can follow a boardwalk into this wet area that supports an unusual population of trees including black ash, swamp white oak and pumpkin ash. This wetland has been dedicated as a State Natural Landmark in recognition of the occurrence of pumpkin ash, a tree rarely found in Ohio.

Martindale Falls
From the trail entrance on Patty Road, the falls is less than a mile walk north on a mostly level terrain through scenic woods.

Patty Falls & Old National Road
Named after the Patty family who settled nearby over 150 years ago, Patty Falls provides as easily reached scenic spot. From the falls, a short hike down the hill leads to a bridge over which Old National Road passed (near trail intersection 21). Note the limestone blocks and oak planks used in construction.

Enjoy over 12 miles of scenic trails.

Picnicking
Many tables have charcoal grills and are located throughout the park. For larger groups, Englewood MetroPark has four picnic shelters. The Thompson picnic shelter in the North Park is available on a first-come basis - three other shelters are available by reservation only by calling (937) 275-PARK (7275).

Fishing
Fish the lake, pond and river. An Ohio fishing license is required. Ice fishing is permitted in the north park (off Old Springfield Road), but ice conditions are not monitored.

Canoeing & Kayaking
Popular trips begin north on the scenic Stillwater River and conclude at Englewood MetroPark. Trips south of the dam are also possible. Watercraft is not permitted through the dam. Rentals are available; check phone book listings.

Disc Golf Course
The 18-hole disc golf course is positioned under mature trees next to the lake. The course has mowed fairways on rolling hills that are surrounded by a foot of rough. Dense forest with vast wildlife surrounds the park, creating a peaceful and enjoyable experience. It features Fly18 tee-pads with DisCatcher baskets.

Horseback Riding
Bring a horse and ride nearly 3.5 miles of scenic bridle trails.

Bicycling
The main road through the park is marked with a bike lane and offers scenic cycling. Also enjoy a paved woodland bike path.

Winter Recreation (Cross-Country Skiing & Sledding)
With sufficient snow fall, cross-country ski the hiking trails and picnic areas or sled on the sledding hill, reached by path on the west side of the river (sledding is not permitted on the dam).

Camping
Groups, families, or individuals can reserve a campsite in a number of MetroParks. Most sites are primitive (pit toilet, fire ring, picnic table) and some are designed for large groups. Bring gear, food and water. Due to the threat of the emerald ash borer, do not bring firewood to any MetroPark facility. A limited supply of firewood is provided. Permits are required to camp at any of the available sites and must be obtained a week in advance. To reserve a free campsite, call (937) 277-4374 between 9am-4pm Monday-Friday.
