“I take my grandchildren to Carriage Hill to get them away from the daily lives
of computers, cell phones and manufacturer activities…We have enjoyed the buildings,
livestock, sledding, playing near the creek, walking the paths of the farm, horseback
riding, the purchase of “penny candy” at the visitor center’s old fashioned store,
and the opportunity to have a picnic on the grounds of the park”
– Mary Harvey
Conservation Kids programs provide children and families inspiration and knowledge to get outside, play in and explore nature - and ultimately become stewards of the environment and advocates for conservation.
Five Rivers MetroParks has introduced a new GPS game called Venture Quest, which intends to help families experience the outdoors in a whole new way.
Similar to geocaching, Venture Quest uses GPS coordinates of various outdoor attractions that participants must locate. Your goal is to find all six geological features and the post for each site.
