Landscaping 101 for the Homeowner
Learn how to design residential landscapes in this multi-session course. This course will cover site evaluation, layout strategy, hardscape design, wall and deck building, irrigation needs, along with special needs, proper planting techniques, and best plants for Ohio. This in-depth, 17-week horticulture program includes these topics: botany for
gardeners,
plant propagation, herbaceous ornamentals, landscape design, native plants, herbs,
plant pathology, and more.

Your Best Vegetable Garden - Gardening Course
A different topic will be covered each week that will lead to you growing "your
best vegetable garden.” Weekly classes will include a lecture and hands-on activity.
Guest speakers will be professional instructors from commercial and horticultural
fields with expertise in the following topics: composting and soil preparation,
planning, planting, pests, preservation, and projects. |

Miami Valley Gardening Conference
Since 1996, the Wegerzyn Gardens Foundation and Five Rivers MetroParks have presented
this conference as part of their commitment to horticultural education. Providing
a full day of learning from experts on a variety of topics to over 300 gardeners,
it is the largest and most successful conference of its kind in the region.
