We hope you have an enjoyable visit to our parks. This guide is intended to be used in conjunction with the official MetroParks maps and brochures, which are available on each of the individual park pages of this web site.

Five Rivers MetroParks supports the Americans with Disabilities Act by making reasonable accommodations in serving individuals with disabilities. Programs and facilities are offered on a non-discriminatory basis. If accommodations are needed, please call (937) 275-PARK at least one week in advance.


General Information
The designation "accessible" in each brochure indicates access for wheelchair users in compliance with Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).



Parking
Facilities and trailheads within MetroParks have designated spaces marked with the international access symbol. These spaces are reserved for visitors with physical disabilities whose vehicles display a special license plate, tag or sticker.
 
Buildings, gardens and paved paths comply and/or exceed ADA standards. Handicap accessible with the exception of natural trails.
There are disabled parking sites at the Visitor Center and lake parking lots. Both the farm and Visitor Center have accessible restrooms. The Visitor Center does contain an elevator.  Current drinking fountains are of the older style and work well for some, but not all wheelchair users. An accessible fishing pier is also provided.

There are no restrooms at this facility. All amenities of the park are accessible. There are handicap accessible parking areas.
All restroom facilities at Englewood MetroPark are accessible. There is accessible parking available along with an accessible nature trail in the Patty Shelter area
There are two ADA accessible parking sites at the Nature Center parking lot and two located at each reservable shelter and/or restroom area. Both restrooms are accessible. Drinking fountains at the restroom facilities are ADA accessible.
After 2008 construction there will be accessible parking sites at White Oak, Dogwood and Paw Paw Camps with accessible restrooms at White Oak and Paw Paw Camps.
There are handicap accessible parking areas and an accessible restroom.
The restrooms, picnic shelters, playground area, and Bandshell are all accessible. There are two disabled parking spots in the parking lot area. Two of the public restrooms have an accessible stall. There is one drinking fountain that works well for accessibility and two other that have dog watering capabilities.
All parking lots have accessible parking. The reservable shelters are accessible. The farm and barn are accessible as are the restrooms at the farm, reservable area, pond lot and the Argonne picnic area. The first fishing pond is connected to the pond parking lot by a handicapped accessible asphalt path.
RiverScape is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are welcome on the ice rink. RiverScape MetroPark received a certificate of excellence from the Access Center Dayton in recognition of our efforts to ensure that people with disabilities have complete access to the communities in which they live.
There are several disabled parking sites at the Trail Center parking lot off Conference Road. The restrooms at the trail head are accessible. The drinking fountains are of the older style and work well for some, but the one at the trail head is new and accessible for wheelchair users. There is a level, paved path that goes from the parking lot, past the public restroom and the new drinking fountain and makes a quarter mile loop through the scenic prairie. A picnic shelter with an accessible table is also located just off of the path.
There are no restroom facilities at this location and accessibility is to immediate areas of the paved sidewalks.
There is accessible parking. Accessible restrooms are located in the south and west parts of the parks and at the reservable area.
There are three ADA accessible parking sites at Lake George parking lot.
Parking lot has curb cuts and ramps to the sidewalks. All pathways in the Formal Gardens and the Children’s Discovery Gardens are handicapped accessible. There is an elevator as well as a handicapped ramp at the Wegerzyn Center. Restrooms inside and outside are ADA accessible.
