Climbing and ultimately summiting Argentina’s Cerro Aconcagua was an exhilarating and fulfilling experience, but not without some apprehensions. Brothers John and Bob discuss their expedition including the training, trip coordination, and lessons learned in this multimedia presentation.  At 22,841 ft, Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Americas, and the highest mountain outside Asia.

John and Bob resolved long ago not to grow older without a fight.  To that end, they decided mountaineering would provide them with just the incentive they needed to stay in shape and experience the challenge of climbing some of America’s highest peaks.  Ten years later they have summited Mt. Rainier, Mt. Whitney, Long’s Peak, Mt. Shasta and Mt. Elbert to name a few..  In 2009 they decided to take their quest to the next level and test their endurance on a “big” mountain… enter Aconcagua.  At ages 54 and 57, both brothers continue to plan new expeditions with Mt. McKinley in their sights for 2011.

Bob and his family reside in West Chester, Ohio and works in the printing industry.  John lives with his wife, Ellen, in Dayton, Ohio and works in the energy delivery business.
