Summer Update

What’s summer without a stop at a local farm market and what better place than right in the heart of the city? Pick and choose from farm-fresh produce—apples to zucchini and everything in between. If you like fresh-cut flowers for the table, a bottle of wine for that special dinner, chocolates and pastries, or freshly baked breads and pies, your senses will never get bored each time you explore the market—regardless of whether it’s your first trip or your thousandth. Step inside for the many unique items sold by over 40 vendors. If homemade breads, local produce, prepared food or flowers are on your list, let the Market be your one-stop shop!

    • With sponsorship assistance from PNC Bank, local growers, bakers, culinary specialists, and artisans fill this charming historic freight house. Reminiscent of European markets, it’s alive with vendors, people and activity during market hours.

Learn more about the market by watching a video interview with local talk show host Bette Rogge as she talks with Jimmy Harless, Manager of MetroPark's PNC 2nd Street Market. This video was produced by DATV.

    • The market began as an extension of the Wegerzyn Outdoor Farmers Market, which moved to the Cannery building on Wayne Avenue to provide an indoor setting and to extend their season in the late 1990’s.

In November 2001, the market moved to its present location at Second and Webster streets, in a former Baltimore and Ohio freight warehouse built in 1911.

    • The building has 3 ramps, with parking spaces by both ramps on 2nd Street. Accessible restrooms are available inside the building..

    • Directions
Take Keowee St. to Third St. and turn left. Turn right at Webster St., then right at 2nd St.

    • The 2nd Street Market operates in an historic block-long former 1911 B&O railroad building. It was saved from demolition and renovated in 2001 in partnership with National City Bank, now PNC Bank.

Five Rivers MetroParks is proud to help support growing and buying locally produced goods. The PNC 2nd Street Market strives to promote sustainable, local food systems in order to shrink the ecological footprint of Montgomery County.
