Try Snowshoeing!
This weekday program will run only if there is 3 inches, or more, of snow on the ground so please listen to the weather forecast and keep an eye out your window. Snowshoes will not be loaned out after 4:30 PM to allow participants adequate time to use the snowshoes before the end of the program.
If Montgomery County is under a Level II, or higher, snow alert this program will be cancelled. To find out if the program will take place or not please call: (937) 277-4374 and then dial 2 to check for program cancellations.

Each week, Club members have fun getting to know each other and the natural world through activities such as rock skipping, following animal tracks, turning over rocks and logs, building forts, and digging holes. Master Organic Gardener Course-Winter Session
Five Rivers MetroPark's Master Organic Methods Gardener Course is a training program designed to help meet the horticultural needs of the Miami Valley. Its purpose is to train volunteers and utilize their expertise to teach the public about the nature and culture of plants and their importance to our quality of life. Master Organic Gardener volunteers provide assistance to MetroParks staff so horticultural and horticulture education activities can be more effectively and efficiently carried out. This course is designed to provide a balanced and practical program in gardening with an emphasis on soil improvement and pest control. Students will be exposed to a variety of environmentally safe concepts in gardening and traditional concepts in horticulture. It is an 18-week in-depth horticulture program that includes quizzes, exams, a project, and 50 hours of volunteer service. Applications are now being accepted for Winter Session. City Beets: A Call for Applications!
City Beets is a summer leadership and gardening program for teens, 12-15 years old. Participants grow food at Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark and sell it at the 2nd Street Market. Teens also cook and eat harvested produce, go on volunteer field trips, and donate to the Foodbank. Teens receive a gift card stipend. Tike Hike: Animal Tracking
Bring your preschooler out for a fun-filled animal tracking experience! We will explore the science and technique behind animal tracks, as well as examine track molds, scat replicas, and mammal furs.
