Mountain biking has come to Dayton. You won’t believe how much fun you can have on a bike in the woods. MetroParks Mountain Biking Area (MoMBA) provides over 8 miles of mountain biking opportunities for the most advanced to the novice rider. It's the area’s first fully sustainable trail system designed to IMBA standards, specifically for mountainbike use. The outdoor recreation department also provides programming to help you get on your bike and Get Out and Ride!

MoMBA Ride for Remembrance

Join the mountain biking community and local firefighters, policemen and military personnel in honoring them for their continual sacrifice in the line of duty and remember the events of 9/11 in a positive and active way with the Miami Valley Mountain Bike Association and Five Rivers MetroParks during a mountain bike ride at MoMBA. Is not having a mountain bike keeping you from getting out to ride MoMBA? Come out to MoMBA, MetroParks Mountain Bike Area, and use one of our program bikes to take a lap on some sweet single track. Bikes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Helmets are mandatory and provided with bike. MoMBA Cross Country Classic

One of the many exciting competitions of GearFest, is the MoMBA XC Classic, the only race event held at this amazing, sustainable single track, mountain bike specific facility. Race will be operated in a professionally timed, mass start fashion with numerous classes racing from 1 to 3 laps around the nearly nine mile course. Registration requested; walk-ins welcome. No Rain-Out Date will be scheduled. For up to date trail conditions and closures call the MoMBA Hotline (937) 277-4374. Camping is available at no cost at GearFest, register to camp online. Mountain Bike Group Trail Ride
Tour the John Bryan trail system with the Miami Valley Mountain Bike Association. Bring your bike, helmet and water. This is not a race. This leisurely trail ride will introduce you to local trails and riders.
Cycling Adventure Teen Camp (ages 12-15)
Get a taste of cycling and mountain biking at this day camp with Five Rivers MetroParks. Participants will learn about basic maintenance, safety equipment and riding skills, and get a chance to peddle on the beautiful Creekside Recreation Trail.
ON THE GO Basic Bike Maintenance Clinic
Join roll: and Five Rivers MetroParks for a 2 hr class that will help you diagnose and fix minor mechanical and riding hiccups when out on the trail. Participants will learn about basic bike maintenance including how to fix a flat tire, adjust brakes and gears, and bike lubrication, and what you will need to help make sure that your time out on the trail doesn’t get cut short.
Cycling Wheel Building Clinic (ages 14 & older) A unique, one on one, on the art of custom wheel building brought to you by roll: and Five Rivers MetroParks. As part of the class you will build your own set of custom wheels to suit your bike and personal riding style. The wheel building clinic takes approximately 3 hrs and is booked to suit your schedule.
One on One Bike Overhaul Class
Join roll: and Five Rivers MetroParks for a full day, one-on-one session with the service manager in a session that will be tailored to you, your bike, and your schedule. Topics covered will be, tire repair and diagnosis, brake, derailleur, hub, and headset/bottom bracket maintenance and adjustment, bike fit and accessories. If you want to learn how to fix it, this is the class for you.
