Rock climbing is a full body sport that works the mind as well as the body. Five
Rivers MetroParks and our recreation department, Five Rivers Outdoors, have partnered
with both local climbing gyms and area parks to produce programs that help build
a climbing community in the Miami Valley.

Intro to Climbing on Natural Rock
Getting outside on natural rock is a whole new experience from the indoor plastic! Come with us to John Bryan State Park and earn your belay certification while getting an introduction to climbing on real rock. Class will cover the basics of belaying, harness fitting, knot tying, rope handling, communication and climbing safety. Climbing Adventure Teen Camp
Join Five Rivers Outdoors at Sycamore Trails Park in the City of Miamisburg for a day long camp for teens interested in the learning the basics of rock climbing. Teens will get an orientation to knots, commands, safety, equipment and technique on Five Rivers Outdoors 28' climbing wall. Then take a break from climbing and enjoy the rest of the evening at the Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center and participate in the Kayak Extravaganza. 'Get Out and Live' with Five Rivers Outdoors climbing in the City of Miamisburg.
