Backpacking is at its best on the Twin Valley Trail!

Looking for a backpacking experience that traverses many different natural habitats with rich biodiversity and wildlife? Welcome to the Twin Valley Trail.

Twin Valley Trail logoThe Twin Valley Backpacking Trail combines the existing network of trails in Germantown and Twin Creek MetroParks with a connection to create a longer, more integrated trail system totaling over 43 miles throughout 2600 acres.

Set in the rolling hills of the Twin Valley, the TVT provides a backpacking experience reminiscent of other wilderness trails with beautiful hills, babbling brooks, abundant wildlife, history and small town charm.

Secluded designated camping opportunities are sprinkled throughout this 22 mile trail that includes and connects Germantown and Twin Creek MetroPark. Group and secluded backcountry camping will allow everyone to experience the wilds of the Twin Valley and this rural corner of Montgomery County like never before.
