Kayak River Running
This is a great follow-up to those who have taken Quickstart. Learn moving water instruction that deals with controlling your kayak on the river. You will learn to perform a variety of maneuvers that will improve your paddling ability, promote confidence and help you avoid hazards frequently encountered on the river.
Twin Creek Float Trip
Float down the scenic Twin Creek — one of the best float streams and warm water habitats in the area. A MetroParks naturalist will interpret the flora and fauna along Twin Creek including beavers, fish and macro-invertebrates. This trip is water-level dependent and could be changed to a different stretch of river if necessary. Kayaks and other equipment available at no additional fee. This float is perfect for participants who have taken a Quickstart, who have novice skills on moving water or for the experienced kayaker who wants to explore the beautiful Twin Valley by boat.
Kayak Demo Night
Try kayaking on the Eastwood MetroPark lagoon with the Whitewater Warehouse. A variety of boats will be available for you to check out and paddle. Before purchasing a kayak, paddle and compare performance characteristics.
Paddling Adventure Teen Camp (ages 12-15)

TRIPS
Baja California Sea Kayaking Trip <
This 10-day adventure takes place in a remote and spectacular marine desert environment, 400 miles down the Baja California Peninsula. From San Diego, travel to Bahia de Los Angeles (Bay of LA), a small fishing village on the Gulf of California. This sparkling bay is dotted with more than a dozen uninhabited islands and a pristine coastline running for hundreds of miles. Residents of this area include unique sea birds and whales, dolphins, rays and whale sharks. Observe a plethora of native flora and fauna including tide pool organisms, sea and shore birds, sea mammals and desert plant life. Enjoy snorkeling, fishing, day hiking, and relaxing in this amazing natural area. The itinerary is geared for novice to intermediate paddlers, but all experience levels will enjoy the beauty and solitude of this trip.
Kayaking and Sailing the Blue Waters of the Bahamas
Take a break from the winter and start the New Year off with an adventure to the beautiful Bahamas with Five Rivers Outdoors. Travel to the Bahamas from Ft. Lauderdale via sailboat. Explore the blue waters off the Exuma Cays and Berry, Paradise and Andros Islands while kayaking and snorkeling. The trip will be based out of the Forfar Field Station on Andros Island, with the third-longest reef that is possibly the most diverse. Occasionally, kayakers and snorkelers share the waters with wild dolphins. Land trips include looking for botanical sights such as bromeliads and rare orchids and time at the luxurious Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island. Participants will also have a chance to give to the community by donating needed items to the field station and possibly perform a service project in the community.
