ONGOING: Volunteer: Wegerzyn Gift Shop

Volunteers are needed as attendants in Wegerzyn's gift shop in the historic National City 2nd Street Market. Work is done in shifts of 2-4 hours. Special training and mentoring are provided. The gift shop is a source of funding for the nonprofit Wegerzyn Gardens Foundation, which supports the educational and horticultural programs and continued growth of Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark. Call 277-6545 to schedule an orientation and training.

Watch as the farmer rides the corn planter and plants the corn in check rows. See a corn field laid out before your very eyes. Afterward, stop by the farmhouse to learn a little more about heirloom corn.

Home Schooler: Wild to Domestic

While the Sun Shines: Haymaking

The farmer makes hay 19th century style when loose hay is loaded on the wagon and taken to the barn. The hay fork slides along its track, drops to the wagon and carries great loads to the loft. Weather permitting: (937) 278-2609.
