Paddle in the Park

The 9th Annual Paddle in the Park offers free instructional clinics, boat demos from the top manufacturers and other opportunities for canoe and kayak enthusiasts of all skill levels to casually try out paddling of all kinds. American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructors are on hand to provide clinics on a first-come, first-served basis with day of registration. No paddling experience is needed.Join the entire Dayton area paddling community including Five Rivers Outdoors; the Outdoor Recreation Dept. of Five Rivers MetroParks, Whitewater Warehouse, Dayton Canoe Club, Great Miami Outfitters, Miami Conservancy District, Wright State Outdoor Resource Center, the Outdoor Adventure Club and more. Super Hero Spectacular

Zap! Pow! Zoom! Calling all super heros! To the Batmobile! Super Hero Spectacular will feature relay races, inflatables, games, raffles, prizes, and the Five Rivers MetroParks climbing wall! Following the Super Hero spectacular, the climbing wall will be open for climbing for all ages from 2:30-4:00. Parents must accompany children at this FREE event. No registration is needed. All climbers must have parent or guardian sign a waiver before climbing. No open toed shoes or wet clothing allowed on wall.

Mountain Bike and Paddle West Virginia

Five Rivers Outdoors is excited to offer this adrenaline packed 3-day adventure to the Mountain State in conjunction with Songer Whitewater. We will be camping at the Songer Base camp, which offers a 2 1/2 mile warm-up mountain bike trail on site as well as an 18-hole disc golf course. After arriving and setting up camp Thursday night, we'll set out Friday morning to conquer one of the most famous whitewater rafting sections in the world, the Upper Gauley River. Big, technical, and truly world-class, the Upper offers more than 60 class III-V rapids including the famed "big five" - Insignificant, Pillow Rock, Lost Paddle, Iron Ring, and Sweets Falls. Be prepared to paddle aggressively as you challenge this amazing wilderness run. Starting Saturday morning, the group will travel to a variety of mountain bike destinations within Southern West Virginia. Gear Fest

Five Rivers Outdoors will host a celebration of outdoor recreation in our region. Enthusiasts, retailers, clubs and advocacy associations are on hand to showcase GEAR; from discounted items to how and where to use the hottest items on the market. Gear Fest will move to Eastwood Lake MetroPark in 2008 and offer a 'new look' including camping, live music, paddle sports instruction, competitions and adventure sport demos.
