Prairie Partner Volunteers
Five Rivers MetroParks’ Prairie Partner volunteers implement a major part of the restoration plans of the land stewardship program. This group is for gardeners who love the feel and smell of fresh soil in their hands.

Volunteer Opportunities
Prairie Partner volunteers primarily assist with greenhouse production tasks, such as: care of native plants, watering, fertilizing and transplanting seedlings and prepping them for planting in the nursery or directly into their habitat. Volunteers also help the seed nursery manager maintain the flower beds throughout the spring and summer and help with the harvest in the fall. Seed harvested from the nursery and surrounding prairies is processed, cleaned and stored for planting the following year.

Become a Prairie Partner
If you like to see things grow and want to be on the ground floor of some exciting restorations within MetroParks, contact Contact Kevin Kepler, MetroParks' Volunteer Services Manager at (937) 275-PARK (7275) or volunteer@metroparks.org and grow with us!
