Whether you're a competitor, gear junkie, armchair enthusiast or just a spectator, GearFest offers all kinds of things to do for individuals, groups and families alike! Whatever you choose to do at GearFest, have fun!

Try Slacklining

Gibbon's Pro Team is back from Boulder, Colorado and will be on hand to teach YOU how to slackline. Several lines will be set up low to the ground.
Try Climbing

Climbers of all ages can try out this exciting and challenging sport. Climbers should bring a signed release of liability waiver to be able to climb.
Subway Fresh Fit Youth Adventure Zone

Youth of all ages are encouraged to stop by the Subway Fresh Fit Youth Adventure Zone to learn more about outdoor adventure & healthy lifestyles.
Try Kayaking

Try a kayak for free! Whitewater Warehouse will provide a variety of kayaks and paddleboards for the public to “test paddle” at GearFest.
Try Canoeing

Visitors can register to use a canoe at information central for free! The Try Canoeing area is a great spot for individuals and families!
Hub Trex Bike Ride

Bring your bike and travel with the Volunteer Bike Patrol from Eastwood MetroPark on the Mad River Trail to Riverscape MetroPark.
Bike For the Health Of It

Join us for a guided bicycle ride rain or shine on the Creekside Bikeway. The 12 mile ride will start and finish at Eastwood MetroPark.
Try Geocaching

Thanks to the Miami Valley Geocachers caching will be available at GearFest. Visitors will have an opportunity get your GPS on!
Try Disc Golf

A temporary course will be available on Friday and Saturday. Bring your own disc or borrow a disc at the Waterfall Disc Golf Booth.
Try Fly Fishing

Have you ever wanted to learn how to cast a fly rod? Thanks to the Miami Valley Fly Fishers visitors can learn the mechanics of a cast.
Skateboarding Area

Get tips from local experts and show off your skills! You must bring your own board and helmet. Bring a signed release of liability waiver.
Try Backpacking

Thanks to Great Miami Outfitters, visitors can learn how to pack a backpack, choose proper gear and select the right trip.
Try Snow Tubing

This “mini” tubing park will give young visitors a taste of the mountain and showcase this family friendly event. Give snow tubing a try!
Charlie Doyle Memorial Regatta

The Greater Dayton Rowing Association invites spectators to the 12th annual Charlie Doyle Memorial Regatta at Island MetroPark.
 
Need more to do? Eastwood MetroPark is a great place for independent recreational activities! Try fishing on the Mad River, riding your bike on the Mad River Bikeway or hiking on one of the many hiking trails, including the Buckeye Trail and North Country Trail!
