Dayton is located within two hour drive of over 14,000,000 people in Cincinnati, Columbus, Toledo, Louisville, Lexington, Huntington (WV) and Indianapolis and is emerging as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy adventure activities like kayaking, backpacking, fly fishing, mountain biking, disc golf and rock climbing. These opportunities and the culture created by outdoor enthusiasts are transforming our region in to “The Outdoor Adventure Capital of the Midwest”.
Presented by Five Rivers MetroParks, GearFest is a celebration outdoor lifestyle and is instrumental in bringing the Dayton region’s outdoor community together each fall with a focus on outdoor gear, culture and active opportunities.
GearFest offers an impressive group of exhibitors, live music, free camping and adventure competitions in kayaking, climbing and snowboarding that has the Dayton area and several other large metropolitan areas buzzing. Visitors will enjoy high flying adventure sports demos throughout the event including a professional mountain board team, a snowboarding team, freestyle whitewater kayaking shows and bike trial team shows.
Because of Dayton’s location this event offers access to regional markets through aggressive advertising, grass roots marketing through clubs and associations, regional special events and trend setting adventure facilities. In addition, efforts are made to hit the most popular social media websites; including facebook, myspace and twitter.
