Mike and his daughter, Lara Fanelli, put their lives on hold and took off with backpacks to tour the world for a year the “rough” way.  Their goal: to see the wonders of the world, sample exotic foods, and get close to the people, and to learn about their cultures and customs.

Mike is a retired engineer, scout leader, avid outdoorsman, and wanderer.
