Many outdoor enthusiasts have a goal to visit each of the 50 US States, but have you ever thought about reaching the highest point in each state?  A growing number of people are enjoying the beauty, adventure and culture of visiting state high points.  From the park like setting of Florida’s Britton Hill at 345 feet above sea level to the glaciated heights of Alaska’s 20,320 foot Mount McKinley, to the incredible views on top of Vermont’s Mount Mansfield, each high point offers unique challenges and characteristics.  This session will explore how to get started, how to prioritize your climbs and resources available to make your journey a truly enriching experience.  Highpointing is great for families and avid adventurers new and old.

Douglas Wagoner is a lifelong adventurer and has been guiding trips and teaching others to enjoy the outdoors responsibly for over 19 years. He is chief guide at Green Earth Outdoors, a personalized sustainable adventure company based in Louisville, Kentucky, that conducts carbon neutral outdoor trips, programs and trainings, including adventures to several state high points.
