Due to the hussle and bussle of the regular paddling season a lot of boaters set themselves up for ineffective movement and worse. These winter months are a great time to really connect with your boat.  WE are waiting to help you achieve your next kayak and canoeing level? As an instructor there are deeper concepts and skills that most students have difficulty learning on the water.

The Yoga and Fitness for Kayakers class is designed for especially you in mind. The Indoor Sessions focus on balance, strength, form, and quickness to make you water ready and prevent injuries.

Don Brannen, a full time Community Center Director with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission. Don is a certified personal fitness instructor, ACA Whitewater and Basic Canoe and Kayak Instructor, Swiftwater Rescue Instructor, and Experiential Educator. Don works with all ages developing efficient form and successful skills.

Jeanne Speier is a certified yoga teacher through The Cincinnati Yoga Teachers Assoc. She mentored with Lilias Folan for two years and has enjoyed the Kripalu kayak/yoga retreat. Currently she teaches Hatha Yoga classes at Xavier University and Doherty preschool and Kindergarten. She started to kayak in 2006 and began using her yoga technique to help improve her paddling and rolling skills. She now works with Don Brannen teaching yoga for kayaking in Cincinnati. Together they ran a Kids Kayak camp and they teach an ongoing adult Yoga and Fitness for Kayaking class. Jeanne recommends floating meditations and paddling around lotus leaves.
