Presentation:  That Was Then, This is Now; Retracing my Grandfathers 1935 National Parks Trip

In 2010 my wife and I took our 4 children to the Badlands, Black Hills, Devils Tower, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons retracing the trip my grandfather took 75 years ago in 1935.  We were able to visit some of the exact same places and take pictures from the same or similar angle.  I have put together a show of our color photos along with his black and white pictures.  It is interesting to see what has changed and what remains the same after 75 years.

Chris Nartker is a Physics and Environmental Science Teacher at Beavercreek High School.  He and his wife of 15 years have enjoyed many camping adventures with each other, students and family.  Chris attends the Dayton Backpacker Campfires during the winter and loves hearing about others trips and sharing stories from the trail.
